Norton Mining

High-grade gold project | Selective mining | Ore sorting

Norton Mining is advancing the Norton Gold Project (ML80035) through selective open-pit mining and high-grade ore sorting. The project strategy focuses on grade enhancement and efficient beneficiation pathways rather than conventional large-scale processing.

About Us

An Australian Gold Mining Company

Norton Mining Pty Ltd is an Australian company focused on advancing the Norton Gold Project (ML80035). The project holds a granted Mining Lease over a historical gold deposit with documented prior production.

The company is structured around a project model that prioritises selective mining, ore sorting, and beneficiation over conventional large-scale processing. This approach is designed to reduce upfront capital requirements while maintaining focus on gold grade and product quality.

Norton Mining works with mining contractors, geological consultants, and processing specialists to progress the project through technical assessment, mine planning, and development sequencing.

Documented Mineralisation

Known gold-bearing lodes with prior mining history and geological records.

Technical Assessment

Geological evaluation, mine planning, and beneficiation studies informing project direction.

Ore Sorting Strategy

Grade enhancement through ore sorting to improve product quality before further processing.

Contractor Model

Structured for collaboration with mining contractors, processing specialists, and financiers.

Technical Capability

The company engages specialist advisers across geology, mining engineering, beneficiation, and commercial structuring to support project assessment and development planning.

Norton Gold Project (ML80035)

Historical High-Grade Gold Project

The Norton Gold Project is a proposed restart of historical open-pit operations within Mining Lease ML 80035, located approximately 70 km south of Gladstone, Queensland.

Gold mineralisation occurs within high-grade sub-vertical shear zones (Never Never, Frampton, Chandler and associated structures). Historical drilling has recorded numerous intercepts exceeding 10 g/t Au at shallow depths, including grades up to 107.9 g/t Au. Prior selective mining and truck grade data confirm the continuity and high-grade nature of the mineralisation.

The restart strategy comprises selective open-pit mining, beneficiation via sensor-based ore sorting (XRT technology), with no on-site smelting or refining. This materially reduces capital intensity, shortens time to first cash flow, and limits metallurgical complexity.

Development Strategy

Project Development Approach

The Norton Gold Project is being developed around a selective mining and ore sorting model. This approach prioritises gold grade over tonnage, reducing the scale of initial operations while improving the quality of material sent for processing.

Rather than building a standalone processing plant, the strategy focuses on producing a beneficiated ore product that can be sold to existing processors or treated under toll arrangements. This reduces upfront capital requirements and allows the project to generate revenue earlier in the development timeline.

Selective Mining

Targeting higher-grade zones within the deposit to maximise gold content per tonne moved.

Ore Sorting

Using sensor-based sorting to separate mineralised material from waste, improving head grade.

Beneficiation

Producing an upgraded ore product suitable for toll processing or direct sale.

Reduced Capital Model

Avoiding large processing plant construction by focusing on ore upgrading and third-party treatment.

Contractor Operations

Mining and ore handling through established contractors rather than owner-operated fleet.

Toll Processing

Upgraded ore sent to existing processing facilities under commercial arrangements.

Project Advantages

Key Project Characteristics

01

Granted Mining Lease

ML80035 provides tenure over a documented gold deposit with prior production history.

02

Grade-Focused Strategy

Selective mining and ore sorting prioritise gold content over bulk tonnage.

03

No Processing Plant Required

Beneficiated ore sold to third-party processors or toll treated at existing facilities.

04

Lower Capital Entry

Ore sorting model reduces upfront investment compared to conventional mine development.

05

Defined Mineralisation

Multiple gold-bearing lodes identified through prior exploration and mining.

06

Contractor Execution

Mining and material handling through established contractors.
